The folklore of herbs has a magical history. Many herbs are thought to protect us from negative energy (evil) and bring good luck to our family and home. Halloween is a very magical time of the year as the veil between the living and the otherworld is at its thinnest. It’s also a time to celebrate our ancestors, to remind them that we love them and to honor them with a Day of the Dead Alter.
About the presenter: Brenda Miller is a member of the Austin Herb Society and has grown herbs in her own yard for about seven years. She has studied the medical uses of herbs for over 15 years and hopes to learn something new about them every day.
