Artisans… they’re those dedicated souls among us who spend hour upon hour, over weeks and months and years, practicing, learning, and developing their craft. They sew, mold, dye, felt, weave, mix, carve, paint, knit, cook, and build – creating beautiful everyday objects that bring us joy in their use.
An artisan’s passion and devotion for his or her art form is a gift to us all. It extends and expands artistic traditions for the love of fine craftsmanship and for the sake of making life more pleasant.
Join us to celebrate over 30 of these creative people from our community at the third annual Artisans’ Market, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, on Saturday, November 11, from 10-4pm at Laura’s Library. We will have food trucks at the event to help you maintain your stamina while you browse!
In addition to individual artist sale displays, there is a silent auction benefiting our Friends Group. You can preview and bid on items between now and November 11th. The bid binder will be at the information desk at Laura’s Library. Bidding closes at 3pm on 11/11, during the market event.
Much of what the Friends earn from this event goes toward scholarships for local teens. The Friends also assist with the Madrone Trail, library programming, and Veterans events at the library. If you are interested in learning more about our Friends Group, drop them an email. We are always looking for new members!
