Curious which laundry detergent does the best job? Trying to choose new wireless headphones, a new gas grill, or the best frozen veggies? Are you worried about what your Smart TV knows about you? You’ll find all of this in the current issue of Consumer Reports, and you can read it right now, from the device you are using to read this newsletter!
Quick steps to access Consumer Reports:
- On our website home page menu, choose Digital Magazines and Consumer Reports.
- Then click on Consumer Reports from the landing page.
- If you are not connected to library wifi, it will ask you to log in with your library card number and password (usually your 10-digit phone number without dashes). Then you have to click on Consumer Reports again.
- Click on the latest issue or the buyer’s guide to start reading!
For now, please read the magazine in mobile browser mode if you are on a mobile device, as we are still working out the login authentication for the Flipster app.
Once you have selected a magazine issue, you are in reading mode. Flip through the pages one by one, or click on an article from the contents page to go straight to it. You can also select previous issues to browse and search available issues for particular topics. This works better on a computer (where you can search all issues back to March 2014) than it does on a mobile device (where you can only search the issue you are currently reading).
Articles or whole issues can be downloaded for later reading through the print option. The files will be saved as a pdf in full color on your device.
Test it out and let us know how it works. Consumer Reports articles dating back even further are also available through our Texshare databases. We would be happy to help you find the particular article you need!
Consumer Reports online is only available through Flipster, but we have about 40 other subscriptions available through RBDigital, which you can access from the same landing page.
