Author Ken Roberts will be visiting Laura’s Library to discuss his book, The Cedar Choppers. This nonfiction work chronicles the history of the cedar choppers, people who lived off the land just west of the Colorado River. Although they remained untouched by modern society and urban development until relatively recently, these people played a central role in developing the West Lake Hills area.

Roberts, retired Cullen Chair of Economics from Southwestern University, spent over two decades researching rural populations of China and Mexico before turning his attention to the rural people of Central Texas.
