The Cuernavaca Action Group will be hosting a forum for candidates running in the March election for state representative and U.S. representative. The structure of the forum will be different than a traditional candidate forum:
- Each candidate will speak uninterrupted to the assembly for 3 minutes.
- Candidates then will rotate from group to group, answering questions for 8 to 9 minutes.
- A timer will ring a bell at the end of each period when candidates rotate to another group.
- Each group will have a moderator to ensure the people take turns.
From 1-2:30pm, the TX-25 candidates (representing Texas in the U.S. Congress) will take the spotlight. At 2:45pm, the TX-47 candidates (representing western Travis County in the Texas House of Representatives) will have the opportunity to meet their potential voters.
Louise Nelson will moderate this forum. She is a 20-year resident of the Woods of Westlake and works at the University of Texas at Austin as a Senior Software Developer/Analyst.
