An Introduction to the Harry Ransom Center

Even though we love local history, the Eanes History Group is also taking advantage of broader historic resources available electronically during the pandemic.

Join us for a virtual tour of the Harry Ransom Center on the UT campus, a renown archive, library, and museum with a world-class collection of literary and cultural artifacts. They have just approved a pilot program of “Virtual Visits” to showcase the highlights of their vast collection.

Monte Monreal, Manager of Visitor Experiences at the Harry Ransom Center, will join us via Zoom to “walk” us through the highlights of their collections. The presentation will also explain public research opportunities the Center provides.

Monte Monreal is the Manager of Visitor Experiences at the Harry Ransom Center and has been with the Center for six years. Once a student and now on staff at the University of Texas at Austin, Monte has made a career of advocating for the Center’s world-renowned collections.
