Weaving on a Cardboard Loom

Weaving may seem old-fashioned, but it creates many of the things in our everyday lives. Not only is this craft practiced around the world, but it has been around since humans first walked the earth.

Today Barbara Attwell will lead a kids’ workshop in the relaxing and rhythmic craft of weaving. Using a cardboard loom and colored yarn, participants will create a lively tapestry.

Instructor Barbara Attwell is an award-winning professional artist and dedicated crafter. Nature is her inspiration and to that end she is also a Texas Master Naturalist and occasional environmental educator. She is passionate about instilling a love of art and of all things wild –  both of which are central to the human experience. Her work can be seen at www.barbaraattwell.net.
