Connecting with your Teen

Julie Smith a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and owner of Radiant Counseling. She received her Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in 2016 and has been practicing in Austin for the last 4 years. As a therapist Smith believes it is important to provide a safe and supportive space for each client, and it is her joy to help clients process and explore life transitions, relational issues, anxiety, and depression. Smith works with adults, teens (and their parents), and relationships. She believes building a therapeutic relationship with a client can pave the way for incorporating successful tools and coping skills. Smith often talks with clients about their system of family/friends/people around them and reflect through how their system is impacting their life. System work can be through individual client sessions or family sessions.

A specific passion of Smith’s is working with teens and their parents. She is excited to present “Connecting with your Teen”  for Westlake High School’s Speaker Series. In this presentation you can learn more on the importance of connecting with your teen and how to connect with your teen better. We hope you will join us!
