Typewriter Rodeo — Poetry for the People

Poetry & Typewriters = Pure fun! You give suggestions, and Typewriter Rodeo will hammer out spontaneous poems based on your ideas. Join us for a lively discussion on poetry — including its recent pop culture rise, and why it doesn’t have to be an inaccessible mystery. This is also a chance for young people to be introduced to the wonderful, clacking, mistake-filled magic of typewriters.

For eight years, Typewriter Rodeo has been crafting spontaneous poems on vintage typewriters for people all over the country. From art fairs to corporate conferences, they’ve written over 20,000 instant poems, have a delightful book, and do weekly radio poems for Austin’s KUT.

Whether you love poetry or feel like you have yet to understand it, you won’t want to miss this event, led by poets Sean Petrie & Jodi Egerton. Recommended for all ages.
