Languages Mango Languages teaches over 70 languages. Pronunciator offers 80 languages. Each program tracks your progress and offers multiple learning formats. Try them both out and choose the one that works best for you.
Finances You have access to Morningstar Investment Research Center, including information on stocks, funds, ETFs, and Markets. Value Line collects financial measures on stocks, mutual funds, and options, providing statistical analyses and rankings to help you make investment decisions. Check RB Digital for The Economist and Kiplinger’s.
Legal Do-It-Yourself The Legal Information Resources Center contains how-to information for financial planning, creating a business, getting a patent, navigating a dispute, creating wills, and handling family issues. It includes legal forms by state. The Gale Legal Forms database (you will find it in Texshare’s set of resources) is Texas specific, with forms for wills, real estate, incorporation, bankruptcy, divorce, and more. It also includes sample letters, vetted by attorneys, covering all sorts of issues like employment disputes, credit issues, complaints, and legal processes.
Computer Skills Learning Express covers computing basics, the Internet, and many popular software packages like Microsoft (Access, Excel, OneDrive, Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, and more) and Adobe (Illustrator and Photoshop).
Test Prep The Testing & Education Resource Center offers test preparation for AP, SAT, GED, STAAR, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, Millers Analogies, as well as many career tests. Has it been a while since you’ve been in school? There are refresher courses in writing and math. Learning Express also includes test prep for GED, ACT, SAT, and AP.
Genealogy America’s Genealogy Bank provides access to obituaries and the social security death index, as well as historical newspapers, books, and documents. We also have access to Ancestry.com from within the library. Join our genealogy group on the first Friday of the month (10am at Laura’s) to learn more about tracing your family’s roots. We also have Family Tree Magazine available through RBDigital.
Do-It-Yourself Inside the Texshare databases, you will find resources for Home Improvement and Hobbies and Crafts. Home Improvement covers decorating, remodeling, maintenance, woodworking, electrical and plumbing. The Hobbies and Crafts database includes articles and book chapters for all sorts of crafting, games, home and garden, and collecting. Find inspiration for your closet remodel, an introduction to HVAC, the ins and out of fantasy football, and calligraphy for the beginner. We also have a number of craft and decorating magazines available through RB Digital.
