On Thanksgiving, we exercise family traditions around favorite foods and happy remembrances of all that is right and good around us. We may squabble over football games or opposing political viewpoints, but we come together again for whipped cream and pie. It’s a day that recognizes the nature of families as collections of individuals, made rich by the variety of its membership. We hope you all have a warm and joyful day of connection.
Closures Our Westbank Library location will be closed Monday, November 25, through Friday, November 29, for a bit of painting followed by the holidays. Laura’s Library will only be closed from Wednesday, November 27, through Friday, November 29, for Thanksgiving. We do not charge late fees during holidays, so enjoy those books and movies a few days longer.
Savvy Purchasing On Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, you may be tempted by all the great sales. Remember that you can comparison shop with Consumer Reports online through your library account. You’ll find access on the Digital Magazines and Newspapers page, and also on our catalog page. You can access the Buyer’s Guide, and if you click on the most recent issue, in the upper right corner there is a search bar that will allow you to search back issues for particular topics. Remember that your login is your library card number and your 10-digit phone number.

Just as you treasure your close family and friends for their unique qualities, we at the library treasure all of our community members for their wide range of interests, backgrounds, and expression. We try to honor that diversity in our collections and programs. If we are missing something or you have an idea for us, let us know!
