Bookflix (new!) offers over 100 classic video storybooks paired with related nonfiction books for a rounded reading experience.  You can choose read-aloud or silent reading, and about a third of the books are in Spanish as well as English. Learning is enhanced by games, related web links, and information about the author.  You’ll need to login with your library card to use this resource outside of the library.

Tumble Book Library presents animated stories as well as read-alongs for early readers to more advanced (chapter book) readers. There are also non-fiction books and related videos and games. Tag your favorites and create playlists!  Access books in English, Spanish, or French. Login is required outside of the library.

Storyline Online provides videos of actors reading animated stories aloud and talking about why they liked the story. Several are featured on our Kids’ Room page, and more can be accessed by clicking the link. New stories are added all the time. Look for your favorite readers!

America’s Story is a collection of stories from American history brought to you by the Library of Congress. Read about famous characters, read stories along a timeline, explore individual states, and learn about America’s pastimes.

Funbrain provides games, books and videos organized by grade level, all designed to develop math, literacy, and problem-solving skills while having a good time.

Highlights for Kids is an online magazine – the same one you read in the waiting room at the doctor’s office when you were a kid.  Remember hidden pictures? Spot the Differences? Goofus and Gallant?
